Wednesday will be the last day to order Angel Food through the Emporia Church of the Nazarene. Orders will be taken from 2 to 7 p.m. for boxes of discount-priced, first-quality food products that will be delivered to Emporia on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Cash, money orders or food stamp cards can be used for payment. Personal checks will not be accepted, according to information from the church. The cost of a box of food is $25. Boxes must be picked up on the designated delivery day.
This month’s box will contain one chicken and stuffing bake dinner, four 8-ounce boxes of hamburger steaks, one two-pound lasagna dinner, five pounds of breaded frying chicken, 12 ounces of Philly steak portions, three pounds of popcorn chicken, one pound of hot dogs, one pound of gourmet bean soup, 7.5 ounce of macaroni and cheese mix, 7.5 ounce southern-style biscuit mix, 24 ounce steak cut fries, one pound of peas and carrots, one pound of turnip greens, 15 ounces of sliced pears, 8 ounces of pineapple chunks, 10 ounces of peanut butter, 10 waffles, and one dessert item.
Other “bonus” packages are available with the purchase of one box of food. Stuffed chicken breast, T-bone steaks, and a variety of steaks, chicken and pork packages are available at a cost of $18 per bonus package.
