Kleinschmidt's 27 points leads Herington past Mission Valley, 53 40

Friday’s game was a special night for the Herington Lady Railers, as they came through with a 53-40 victory against the Mission Valley Vikings on their senior night.
Kristin Kleinschmidt, Herington’s leading scorer, was the only senior on the Lady Railers’ squad this year.
During Friday’s game, Kleinschmidt scored 27 points to not just lead the team, but all scorers as well.
At half, the Lady Railers were up by five, and the Vikings never could mount a comeback.
“I was happy going into Sub-State with the girls playing the way they did,” Herington coach Jayson Emig said, “I felt like all our girls played well.”
The Tigers didn’t give up without a fight, as Vanessa Finlay scored 19 points for the Vikings.

The Osage City girls opened with a 17-4 run to overrun Northern Heights, 55-35, Friday night at Osage City.
The Lady Indians scored as many points in the first half as the Ladycats did the entire game.
Miranda Bryan led Osage City with 17 points, while Leann Baird led Northern Heights with nine points.
