The Waverly girls got 18 points from Whitney Good and another 16 points from Megan Steward as the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lebo Lady Wolves on Thursday, 61-48, in Class 1A Regional action.

Steward did most of her damage in the first half, scoring 10 points before the break — including eight points in a 24-point quarter for Waverly — to help the Lady Bulldogs take a 35-25 lead into halftime.

As for Good, she scored all of her points in the second half, which included a perfect 10-for-10 showing from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

The efforts of Good and Steward, along with teammate Amy Schmidt’s 10 points, were enough to overcome a 19-point performance by Lebo’s Nickole Presley. Presley made four 3-pointers on her way to game-high scoring honors.
