The Emporia Recreation Commission postponed most of its business until next month after it failed to have a quorum Monday afternoon.

Only four recreation commissioners showed for the meeting. At least five of the nine members need to be present to conduct business.

Two members, Tom Myers and Julie Johnson, were absent due to a closed-door city commission meeting on city manager prospects.

The postponed items include a discussion of the recreation commission’s fee waiver policy.
