These meals will be served next week in Emporia’s public schools:
BREAKFAST
Monday: drizzled scone or Pop Tart.
Tuesday: sausage biscuit or cereal and graham cookie.
Wednesday: breakfast pancake on a stick or cereal and biscuit.
Thursday: breakfast bagel or cereal and biscuit.
Friday: breakfast chicken pretzel or cereal and muffin.
LUNCH
Monday: super pretzel with sauce, mozzarella sticks, vegetable bites and dip, mandarin oranges.
Tuesday: pepperoni pizza, tossed salad, applesauce, chocolate chunk cookie.
Wednesday: turkey and cheese sandwich, corn chips, pickle spear, banana.
Thursday: chicken glazers, garlic biscuit, potato smiles, normandy vegetables, pineapple tidbits.
Friday: macaroni and cheese, little smokies, green beans, strawberries and shortcake.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk. Lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
EMPORIA
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home-delivered meals, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week:
Monday: scalloped chicken, pickled beets, bread, fruit cocktail.
Tuesday: beef and broccoli, rice, peaches, wheat bread, cookie.
Wednesday: fish or chicken-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, wheat roll, cake and ice cream.
Thursday: meatballs, fettucini alfredo, winter blend vegetables, bread, plums.
Friday: fish or sloppy joe, bun, potato salad, zucchini and tomatoes, pineapple mango paradise.
NORTH LYON COUNTY
Friendship meals are served at noon at: The Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

Monday: swiss steak, parslied potatoes, cauliflower, bread, fruit cocktail.
Tuesday: pork roast, hashbrown casserole, carrots, bread, four-fruit compote.
Wednesday: taco salad casserole, peas, bread, fruit and marshmallow cream.
Thursday: baked chicken, candied sweet potatoes, green beans, roll, pears.
Friday: baked fish, pasta with herbed butter, broccoli, bread, peaches.
