These meals will be served next week in Emporia’s public schools:
BREAKFAST
Monday: cereal and muffin or Pop Tart.
Tuesday: ham and cheese biscuit or cereal and graham cookie.
Wednesday: cinnamon bun stick or cereal and muffin.
Thursday: breakfast pizza or cereal and biscuit.
Friday: frosted long john or cereal and biscuit.
LUNCH
Monday: ham and cheese melt on a bun, tater tots, pineapple tidbits, ice cream or yogurt.
Tuesday: chili, crackers, vegetable bites with dip, fresh fruit choice, cinnamon roll.
Wednesday: grilled chicken on a bun, cheesy potatoes, green beans, tropical fruit.
Thursday: crispito, nacho chips, tossed salad, mozzarella cheese stick, orange wedges.
Friday: corn dog, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, banana and cookie.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk. Lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
EMPORIA
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home-delivered meals, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week:
Monday: swiss steak, baked potato, green beans, wheat bread, orange.
Tuesday: parmesan chicken, scalloped potatoes, ranch vegetables, bread, applesauce.
Wednesday: ham, candied sweet potatoes, italian green beans, rye bread, peanut butter pie.
Thursday: goulash, italian vegetables, texas toast, cherry fluff.
Friday: beef and noodles, country trio vegetables, wheat roll, strawberries and peaches.
NORTH LYON COUNTY
Friendship meals are served at noon at: The Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

Wednesday: oven-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli, dinner roll, strawberry cheesecake.
Thursday: spaghetti with meat sauce, italian blend vegetables, garlic bread, hot apples and cranberries.
Friday: chicken-fried steak with cream gravy, boiled potatoes, corn with pimento, bread, mandarin oranges.
