Hill Leaves Vektek for Navy

Thursday, February 8, 2007

Vektek has announced leadership changes at the company.

Jim Hill has left as president of Vektek to return to active reserve status with the U.S. Navy.

The company’s chairman, Pete Gray, will now serve as president and chief executive officer of Vektek, said Mindy Heller-Pendlay, the company’s human resources manager.

“Vektek will remain strong in our domestic markets and will continue aggressive growth internationally,” Heller-Pendlay said in a statement Wednesday. “Under the same private ownership since 1975, Vektek remains committed to being a viable part of the Emporia community.”

Hill confirmed Wednesday his return to active reserve status with the Navy.

Hill had been part of Vektek’s management team since 2000 and became its president and chief operating officer in February 2005. After the Sept. 11 attacks, he was called to duty at the U.S. Strategic Command base in Omaha, Neb., serving there into 2002.

Vektek builds hydraulic and pneumatic work-holding clamps and sells them on the international market.

“We thank Jim Hill for his years of service and wish him well as he pursues other endeavors,” Heller-Pendlay said in the statement.
