Lyon County commission
Lyon County commissioners will meet for a study session beginning at 8 a.m. in the commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse. Items on the agenda include:
• Discuss resolution establishing stop signs at the BNSF Railroad crossing on Road Z at Reading until gates can be installed.
• Discuss 2007 roadway evaluation for the proposed access to Westar Peaking Plant prepared by BG Consultants Inc.
• Commissioners will hear an annual report from the Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas.
• Commissioners will discuss collaborating a project between MHCECK and the Fifth Judicial District Department of Community Corrections.
• Lougene Marsh, director of the Flint Hills Community Health Center will present the health center’s quarterly operation report and will discuss approval of amendment to Regional Preparedness and Response Contract between Lyon County Health Department and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
• Commissioners will review annual reports for Americus, Elemendaro, Emporia and Reading Townships.
• Commissioners will discuss payment of contractor’s application for payment No. 8 in the amount of $98,051.40 payable to Markowitz Builders Inc. for 402 Commercial Annex project.
• Commissioners will discuss a resolution urging the federal and state governments to retain driver’s license renewals at local level.
• Commissioners will discuss solutions to flooding on Road 180 west of Road T.
• Commissioners will discuss appointment of Pike Township treasurer.
