Ground hog for dinner
The First Congregational Church’s 12th annual Ground Hog Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church. The menu features ham loaf, baked potato, green beans, salad, rolls, dessert and beverage. The cost for adults is $5.50; children 10 and younger, $3. Proceeds from the dinner will be used for the church Special Projects Fund.
Penny supper canceled
Because of the weather, the Hartford United Methodist Women have canceled the first penny supper of 2007, which had been scheduled for Saturday evening. The first penny supper will now be on Saturday.
Rummage sale next week
Grace United Methodist Church will have a rummage sale from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 9 and from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 10. The sale includes household items, “gently used” clothing and “other treasures to delight and astound.” Proceeds will be used for the church mission work.
