Roads icy avoid going outdoors
Saturday, December 22, 2007
Ice and snow on roads have caused many vehicles to go off the highways around Emporia. Cars traveling on the highways have been limited to about 45 mph. Avoid traveling if possible.
The snow has ended but with north winds 25-35mph we'll have widespread blowing snow. Temperatures will reamain 20s.
If you have closings or cancelations please post them below or email them to webmaster@emporiagazette.com

We wound up with 4 inches in the Emporia Area, but as much as 11 inches in Bushong! Now the snow has pulled away and we'll see sunny skies and highs around 30 for your Sunday. Windchill values will be in the single digits. Overnight lows Sunday night will drop into the teens. For Monday, expect sunshine to continue with highs in the mid to upper 30s. Christmas Day, we'll see partly cloudy skies and highs around 40. Our next chance of a little snow comes on Wednesday with highs in the lower 30s. Partly Cloudy for Thursday with highs in the upper 30s, and then another chance of Snow on Friday. We'll watch the latest trends with these next two approaching systems in the 49 Storm Center.
