Pizza delivery robbery
The Emporia Police Department reported that a 19-year-old female employee of Papa John’s Pizza was robbed by two unknown males Thursday evening.
Lt. Larry Adams, of the Emporia Police Department, said around 7:20 p.m. two unknown males robbed the victim who was making a pizza delivery in the 1000 block of East Street.
Adams said the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Emporia Police Department at 342-1766 or Lyon County Crime Stoppers at 342-CARE.
Dunlap man arrested
Hercules Metcalfe, 25, of Dunlap was arrested Wednesday night after an altercation at 510 S. Union St.
According to information from Emporia Police Lt. John Koelsch, Metcalfe was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery on Candice Moody, 20, also of Dunlap, and aggravated assault with a firearm.
Candice Moody suffered a wrist injury and was taken to Newman Regional Health, where she was treated and released.
Hercules Metcalfe also is accused of battery and aggravated assault with a firearm on Charmayne and Michael Moody. Neither of the Moodys required medical treatment.
Koelsch said that a dog at the residence allegedly was intentionally injured by Hercules Metcalfe during the incident, which happened about 9:15 p.m.
Investigation into the incident continues. Information will be forwarded to the Lyon County Attorney’s Office to be considered for filing of charges.
