Modine negotiations
A group of local and out-of-town investors are in negotiations to acquire the former Modine Manufacturing property on Industrial Road.
Bruce Andrews of Farm & Home Property Management said the group consists of five or six people. A confidentiality agreement prohibits Andrews from revealing the identities of the potential buyers of the building at 1401 Industrial Road.
“There’s nothing finalized, let’s put it that way,” Andrews said. “Once there is, then I can give more information, but the seller requested a confidentiality agreement.”
Andrews said negotiations with the interested parties had been going on for a couple of months.
The Modine plant closed in 2005 after it was purchased by Proliance International.
Extension remodeling
The Lyon County Extension Office remodeling is still on track to be completed by Christmas, Lyon County commissioners learned during their meeting Wednesday.
Dustin Ochs of CKEC told commissioners that according to the last report he received from the contractor, the completion date is Monday and a final walk-through is slated for Wednesday. Final completion is scheduled for Dec. 31.
Lyon County Undersheriff Richard Old discussed the purchase of additional security cameras for the jail. The additional 28 security cameras would cost around $67,500 and would come out of the 2008 budget.
The security camera item was placed on today’s agenda for a vote.
