Holiday closing
The Flint Hills Community Health Center will be closed Monday and Tuesday for the holiday break. The center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday for walk-in primary care services.
Regular hours will resume Wednesday when the center will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The center will be open on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., although there will be no evening walk-in primary care clinic. The center will close New Year’s Day and reopen Jan. 2 with regular hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Narcotics Anonymous dinner
A holiday meal will be served at noon on Christmas Day at the Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas, according to Celeste Wempe, alcohol and drug services director.
The luncheon is sponsored by the Narcotics Anonymous program.
The meal is for people who may not have families or friends to eat with on Tuesday. Those who attend are asked to bring covered dishes, if possible; if not, Wempe said that will not be a problem.
“Nobody’s going to be turned away,” she said.
Anyone who wants to eat is welcome to attend.
Wempe said that NA and Alcoholics Anonymous groups also will continue their regular meeting schedules through the holidays, and people who need help may call at any time.
“The door’s always open here,” she said. “If they need help, all they really have to do is call.”
The emergency phone number is 343-2626 or, toll-free, 866-330-3310.
