Daisy games
All kindergarten girls are invited to spend the afternoon playing games, learning new songs, making crafts and making new friends at Girl Scouts Daisy Game Day, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Amend Girl Scout Center, 1200 Burlingame Road. The cost is $8 if registered by Dec. 21. No walk-ins can be taken. To receive a registration form or for more information, call 342-4532 or (800) 342-4532.
Animal tags
2008 animal tags are now available at the Emporia Police Department. Animals (cats or dogs) kept in the city limits of Emporia are to have an animal tag. The cost is $10.00 for male and female animals, or $3 for neutered and spayed animals. Owners will need to bring proof of current rabies vaccination at time of purchase.
Tags can be purchased at the police department during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from clerical personnel. Animals must be at least six months old and the owner needs to bring a copy of the animal’s current rabies vaccination.
