Lady Eagles cruise past Chase County, 70-32

The Olpe girls got up big on Chase County early and cruised to a 70-32 victory over the Lady Bulldogs on Friday night in Olpe.
Olpe, the fourth-ranked team in Class 1A, led 28-9 after the first quarter and outscored Chase County in 18-6 and 18-8 in the second and third quarters before giving way to the reserves in the fourth period.
The Lady Eagles were lethal from behind the three-point line, draining 10 of 13 three-point shots, with Katie Moyer hitting seven 3-pointers.
It was part of an explosive offensive night for Olpe, which shot right around 50 percent from the field for the game.
“I think we shot the ball extremely well tonight,” Olpe coach Jesse Nelson said.
Moyer’s 21 points led all scorers, while Kylie Haag scored 13 and Kathryn Flott and Megan Woods each chipped in 12.
Olpe improved to 4-0 while Chase County dropped to 1-3.

Lebo 60, Flinthills 20
Lebo out-scored Flinthills in every quarter Friday night en route to a 60-20 victory in Lebo.
Only four players scored for Flinthills compared to nine for Lebo, which was led by Kate Marks, Lauren Schlesener and Tabitha Frye, who each had nine points for the Lady Wolves.
Hannah Jackson led Flinthills with 10 points.

Northern Heights 56, Council Grove 36
The Northern Heights Ladycats got a balanced scoring effort from all over their lineup in a 20-point victory over Council Grove on Friday in Allen.
In all, 11 players scored for Northern Heights while Council Grove only had seven scorers.
Northern Heights got up 17-6 after the first quarter and never looked back after that, taking a 27-19 lead into halftime before out-scoring the Lady Braves 29-17 in the second half.
Northern Heights benefitted from Council Grove’s ballhandling mistakes as well, as the Ladycats recorded 19 steals.
“I thought we came out and played very well tonight,” Heights coach Tim Riemann said. “The girls came out and were aggressive on both the offensive and defensive end of the court.”
The game was marred by an abundance of foul calls, however, as the two teams combined to shoot 56 free throws, while four players total fouled out.
Northern Heights’ Amy Lee led all scorers with 11 points, while teammate Sarah Boline added 10 and Alex DeLong had nine.

Madison 84, Hartford 56
The Madison girls had five players score at least 12 points in Friday night’s 84-56 rout of Hartford in Hartford.
Morgan Stout led the way with 19 points, followed by Abby Kile (17), Tera Titus (15), Chelcie Schankie (14) and Shelby Buster (12).
Madison scored 20 points in the opening frame and followed that with a 24-point second quarter to blow the game wide open, taking a 44-27 lead into halftime.
Despite five second-half 3-pointers by Hartford, the Lady Bulldogs continued to pull away from the Lady Jaguars to cruise to the 28-point victory.
Jessica Wilson led Hartford with 12 points, while Kellie Farr and Amy Bolen each had 10.
