Toy distribution canceled
The Toy Shoppe distribution planned at the Flinthills Mall cannot be rescheduled because of scheduling conflicts. The distribution was planned last week, when streets were sheeted with ice.
Bicycles, toys, books and stuffed animals, however, are still available to choose from at no charge from the Toy Shoppe at the Mary Herbert Learning Center, 1700 West Seventh Ave.
The toys all have been repaired or restored by students, grades 4 through 11, in a Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative class operated with a “Learn and Serve America” grant.
Team leader Mike McDougald said that people still can pick up toys from 8:15 to 11 a.m. and from noon to 3:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Arrangements can be made for evening or weekend pickups or deliveries, when necessary.
