Hornet moves up
An Emporia State University grad is the new chief counsel for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Vicky Johnson was named to that position earlier this month, said Deb Miller, secretary of transportation for the department.
Johnson, who earned an undergraduate degree in public affairs from Emporia State, received her law degree from the University of Kansas, where she also completed a master’s degree in public administration. She has worked for the department’s Office of Chief Counsel for 24 years.
Before her promotion, Johnson was a staff attorney responsible for litigation and condemnation issues.
