Hearing is delayed
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — A Cherokee County judge has granted a request by prosecutors to delay the preliminary hearing for a Kansas woman accused in the death of a Tulsa man.
Marcie Dawn Reynolds, 31, of Caney is charged with soliciting first-degree murder in the July 2006 shooting death of Joseph William Hain, 27.
First Assistant District Attorney David Pierce said prosecutors must determine whether Reynolds should go on trial in Oklahoma or Montgomery County, Kan.
Cherokee County prosecutors will dismiss charges if Kansas officials charge Reynolds, Pierce said.
Most of the acts Reynolds is alleged to have committed were in Kansas, officials said.
Prosecutors alleged Reynolds hired Levi Jared Nichols, 25, of Tulsa to kill Hain. Nichols is awaiting trial in Cherokee County on first-degree murder in Hain’s death, Pierce said.
