Emporia State University and Emporia public schools are in session today.
At ESU, classes will follow the regular schedule, although administrators posted a message to commuter students on the college Web site:
"To students traveling long distances to campus, call your professor. If you don't have your professor's phone number, call Public Affairs and Marketing at 620-341-5454 after 8 a.m."
Out in Lyon County, schools are closed. Both North and Southern Lyon County districts cancelled classes today after evaluating the amount of ice on rural roads.

• USD 251 North Lyon County
• USD 252 Southern Lyon County
• USD 284 Chase County
• USD 386 Madison-Virgil
• USD 417 Morris County

In addition, the Emporia Antique Car Club dinner is postponed to Dec. 19, according to club president James Hill, who says the dinner will be in the "same place, same time."
The Madison-Virgil school board meeting for December is rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. tonight.
