The Emporia Gazette received the following letter on Thursday from Emporia State men’s basketball coach David Moe:
I WOULD LIKE to take this opportunity to apologize to all those I might have offended or embarrassed by my actions.
Myself and my players take a lot of pride in who we are as people and what we stand for. We will continue as players and coaches to represent the university and community with best intentions and with pride and, hopefully, limit our embarrassing moments.
The crowd was great last night. I can’t take back what I did, although I regret what happened. These kids are great people and competitors and deserve your continued support.

Is it just me, or do we go through this every year during the ESU basketball season? And, every year we see a public apology for his actions and less than appropriate behavior. At least this time, ESU saw fit to suspend him! I completely understand how fiercely competitive sports can be, especially at the college level; however, the vast majority of coaches are successful in controlling themselves much better than Moe.

Memo to AD Kent Weiser:
If Moe does "it "again he should be sent down the road......Ben M. will do just as good a job for ESU(maybe better)!!!! His Central Missouri meltdown a couple of years ago was hard to watch and embarrasing to see him escorted from the arena.

Wow, at least he gave a personal apology to the fans and his players, that's more than the football head coach gave to his players and fans that heard foal language out of the two head coaches mouths that went on the field. Still not exceptable. A.D needs to straighten up his crew. What examples are we teaching these college students?

Did we get an apology from ESU for the offensive music they played during the football season?

Yes, the lady who wrote the letter got an apology, but not from the coaching staff for belittling the players.
