Neosho Rapids meeting
The regular Neosho Rapids city council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at the city community building. All city patrons are invited to attend.
Republican women meeting
Lyon County Republican Women’s final meeting of 2007 will be a Christmas Brunch at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the Emporia Country Club. Cost will be $ 10. Reservations needed. Call Doris Hanna 342-0028 or Maxine Horton 342-7073.
Susan Moran of Emporia SOS will be the speaker. Those attending are asked to bring paper items to be donated to SOS. The group also is collecting books for SOS as well as for Topeka Veteran’s Administration Hospital. Current magazines can also be taken to VA Hospital.
The officers for 2008-2009, elected at the November meeting, will be installed — President Karen Hartenwober, First Vice-President Jeanne Bacon, Second Vice-President Donna Taylor, Secretary Ellan Hamilton and Treasurer Doris Hanna.
