Challenge Day meeting set

A information meeting for parents will be held Thursday about Challenge Day, a program scheduled in April for Emporia Middle School and Emporia High School. The information program begins at 7 p.m. in the EHS Auditorium, according to Nancy Horst, community relations director for the school district.

The audience will see a short video clip of a past Challenge Day event and hear from students, parents and teachers who attended a three-day Challenge Day workshop this month in Emporia.

A committee of teachers, parents, students and community members is organizing the events for middle and high school students to them deal with pressures of bullying and intimidation among their peers. Committee members will be available to answer questions from the audience.

For more information, call Emporia Middle School at 341-2335.
