Emporia State University’s Department of Nursing has gotten $39,172 from the Kansas Legislature for a new faculty member.
The funding comes from the state’s Nursing Faculty and Supplies Initiative. Last June, the state set aside $600,000 for the program.
“The nursing department is appreciative of the State of Kansas, the Kansas Board of Regents and Emporia State University for the opportunity to apply for and receive funds that will allow the program to do its part in addressing the nursing shortage that is facing Kansas,” said nursing department chair Judith Calhoun.
