Woman injured after roll-over accident in Lyon County

Monday, August 27, 2007

A 19-year-old woman was taken to Newman hospital on Saturday afternoon after her car rolled off of U.S. Highway 56 near Allen and struck a fence.

The accident happened around 3:49 p.m. Krista Swisher of Council Grove was driving west on the highway when she lost control just west of mile marker 366, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department.

Her vehicle rolled twice before hitting a fence on the north side of the highway, on land belonging to Ellen Coffman.

Swisher was taken by ambulance to Newman where a deputy spoke with her. Sheriff’s officers have not said what they think caused Swisher to lose control. According to the report, no drugs or alcohol were found in or near the vehicle.
