Students at Emporia High School were sent home at about 1:15 this afternoon because of electrical problems. Nancy Horst, director of community relations for USD 253, said district officials “don’t anticipate” closing the high school on Tuesday morning.
She said district crews were working on repairs to a nearby transformer that threatened to cause electrical damage to the EHS building.
She said those repairs represented “no danger to any individual.”
The Gazette will post any new developments on its Web site tonight.
