Workshops for teachers are available this fall through the Jones Institute for Educational Excellence. Online registration, as well as more information about the workshops, can be found at www.emporia.edu/jones.
Sept. 18 — Are You Fatter Than A 5th Grader (Should Be)? — A one-day workshop for grades K-6 classroom teachers, health & P.E. teachers on creating healthy habits in students.
Sept. 28 — When Harry Met Ruby: Effective Classroom Management for New Teachers — A one-day workshop for classroom teachers in their first three years of teaching.
Oct. 2 — Uncovering & Addressing Student Misconceptions in Science — A one-day workshop for grades K-6 classroom teachers.
Oct. 5 — Infinitec Statewide Assistive Technology Conference 2007 & Outstanding Student Technology Awards Presentation — A one-day conference for general education teachers, special education teachers, administrators and all related services professionals (speech, PT, OT, APE, IT).
Oct. 12 — Text Structures: What Are They? And How Do I Teach Them? — A one-day workshop for grades 5-12 classroom teachers.
Oct. 23 — Making Labs Meaningful — A one-day workshop for grades 7-12 science teachers.
