Council Grove’s Penny Hickman defended her title at the KWGA Tee-For-Two Championship two weeks ago, teaming with Wichita’s Denise Desilet to win the 54-hole state team title.
The two players shot a three-day score of 216 to take the championship by four strokes over Alex Beury and Barbara Taber at the Lawrence Country Club.
The two pulled ahead on the second day by three strokes before gaining a shot on the final day in the alternate-shot format.
The Council Grove mother-daughter team of Marty White and Julie Hower won third flight with a score of 279, which was six shots better than second-place Lillian Fanning and Lani Colglazier.
Osage City’s Cindy Wymore also took 10th in the championship flight, teaming with Topeka’s Phyllis Fast to shoot a 248.
