The next Americus Chamber of Commerce meeting will be at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 1 in the board of education meeting room on Main Street. The main topic on the agenda will be Americus Days activities. The meeting is open to the public.
The September sesquicentennial luncheon will be held later that day from noon to 1 p.m. in the same room. A back-to-school theme will be used with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and bologna sandwiches furnished by the chamber. Guests and members are asked to bring apple desserts and tableware.
The public is invited to join the dinner and to look over the display of Americus photographs from days gone by.
