The new Pizza and Wing Street restaurant is taking shape at 2920 W. 18th Ave. The distinctive Pizza Hut roof line is already apparent.
The restaurant is owned by National Pizza Corp. of Pittsburg, the nation’s largest Pizza Hut franchise.
The general contractor for the project is Northstar Construction Services.
As well as a Pizza Hut, the new building will also house a Wing Street restaurant. Wing Street, a subsidiary of the pizza chain, sells chicken wings in a variety of sauces, including hot regular and mild buffalo, spicy Asian, spicy or honey barbecue, Cajun and garlic parmesan.
The building will have 3,794 square feet of floor space and a capacity of 106 people.
When the new building is ready for business, the old Pizza Hut at 831 W. Sixth Ave. — also owned by National Pizza — will be closed.
The permit for the new building was issued in June.
When the project was announced in April, Jim Villamaria, corporate counsel for National Pizza, said construction of these buildings can take as little as 90 days.
