The William Allen White home has a sweet deal in store for kids on Saturday.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the William Allen White Community Partnership will hold an ice cream social at the historic home, 927 Exchange St. The event is aimed at third- and fourth-graders and their families.
The social was inspired by the 1931 dedication of Peter Pan Park’s wading pool, when 25,000 free ice cream cones were given to children and their families. Saturday’s event will include free ice cream cups, games and a chance to play with manual typewriters and make paper pressman’s hats.
