NOTICING the July 18 advertisement in the Emporia Gazette on page 19: SRS is advertising to give out money to fund refugees under one of its myriad welfare programs;
Also — noticing the Kansas Securities Commissioner advertising repeatedly and expensively on TV;
And how about FEMA, advertising to give away our tax money? “Here we are folks, come and get it!”
And — Mother of all insults, watching the U.S. Postal Service do excessive and expensive advertising, without end, making it necessary to raise the cost of postage, like when we write to our elected representatives who could put the brakes on such nonsense. They could, but wouldn’t and will not.
Now that more higher taxes are coming home to roost on us we should all jump for joy. But only because many are too silent otherwise. And for those who believe the oxymoron of “state gambling income,” consider the damage it does that offsets any gains.
