More public comment needed
The city and county commissions will conduct a fourth public meeting to solicit input from the public on the respective 2008 budgets, according to the press release. The public meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary of the First Christian Church, 202 E. 12th Ave. For more information, call the city manager’s office at 343-4251.
Moran announcement
Rep. Jerry Moran, R-Kansas, will make an announcement about the National Teachers Hall of Fame at 8:45 a.m. Friday in the Visser Hall atrium at Emporia State University. The public is invited to attend the announcement and a reception afterward. ESU said the announcement would concern efforts to make the Hall of Fame a more visible entity nationally.
Emporia High School reunions
Emporia High School graduates from the classes of 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1968 will hold a combined class reunion on Sept. 7-8. A local planning committee is requesting assistance in locating and reconnecting with former classmates.
