Kind Stranger

I JUST WANTED to say thank you to the stranger on the turnpike who was from Emporia.
My tire blew out on the way home from a family visit in Kansas City on July 30. I was stuck on the side of the road heading south with three kids and a rear driver’s side flat. I was wrestling the jack out of the car and was very concerned about the traffic. Very few vehicles were moving over, especially the 18 wheelers.
I had my kids standing clear up by the fence and was very worried someone would hit my car and thus me. I was on the phone with my husband who was well over an hour away and I had just told him I was working on getting it changed and hoping for a kind stranger.
Just then, up drove a guardian angel, my kind stranger in a truck. He offered help and had my tire changed in about 15 minutes. It would have taken me at least an hour.
I found out he was heading north and saw my plight. So not only did he stop to help, he had turned around and come back to help. He said it was a really bad section to get a flat tire in and thought he could help.
I just wanted to let you know that your town is being represented well by your kind strangers. I didn’t get his name and he would accept no reward for his kindness except thanks, which I had plenty of and still do.
I wrote this in hopes he would read it and know how much I, my kids and my husband appreciated his kindness.
