Former Emporia State basketball assistant Mike Davert was named head basketball coach at Kansas Wesleyan earlier this week.
Davert was a graduate assistant for ESU coach Ron Slaymaker for three years while completing a master’s degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
After ESU, he went on to become an assistant coach at Central Missouri before spending two seasons as boys basketball coach at Orange Glen High School in Escondido, Calif.
Davert compiled a 48-19 record in the last three seasons as coach of Southeast of Saline High School. He led the Trojans to the 3A State Tournament last year.
