ATM found

An ATM that was stolen July 30 has been found, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office said this morning.

The automated teller machine was found empty in the area of 293rd and Stubbs Road. It had originally been taken from 317th and Stanley Road.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (785) 828-3121 or Osage County Crimestoppers at 1-877-OS-CRIME.

Road closing

Road 340 between Roads G and H2 will be closed for bridge replacement beginning Tuesday, according to an announcement from the Lyon County Highway Department.

The road is expected to be closed approximately six weeks.

Lyon County Republican Women

The Lyon County Republican Women will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lyon County Extension Office, 618 Commercial St., back entrance. The program will be presented by Brenda Smith, president of the Kansas Federation of Republican Women. There also will be a membership workshop.

Members are asked to bring items for boxes that will be sent to troops overseas, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, lip balm, unscented hand wipes, soap, deodorant, nail clippers, hand sanitizer, lotion, medicated powder, small tissues, phone cards, paperback books, crossword puzzles and other puzzle books, DVDs, cough drops and food items. Money to pay postage and to purchase items also is needed.
