The cutline for a photograph in the 2007-08 School District Activity Calendar gives credit to the wrong hair salon for donating services for Locks of Love haircuts, said Nancy Horst, community relations director for the district.
Kelly Baker, owner of Salon Mirage, and Danielle Slater donated their services for the project, in which three students and two teachers at Emporia Middle School cut their long hair for Locks of Love. The nonprofit group provides wigs and hair pieces for children with cancer and medical conditions that cause hair loss.
The photograph, which appears in the December calendar, is used to illustrate the “education and community service” aspects of the school district.
