No breakfast or lunch will be served in the Emporia schools next week. Food service will be resumed Tuesday, Aug. 14. School menus will be published in the Aug. 11 Gazette.
Friendship Meals
EMPORIA
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home-delivered meals, call 340-8001.
Monday: tater tot casserole, tossed salad, zucchini and tomatoes, wheat bread, pudding.
Tuesday: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas, wheat bread, apricots.
Wednesday: barbecue beef, bun, macaroni salad, pickled beets, cherry crisp.
Thursday: parmesan chicken, au gratin potatoes, summer vegetables, roll, scalloped apples.
Friday: white lasagna, italian vegetables, tossed salad, texas toast, fruit cocktail.
NORTH LYON COUNTY
Friendship meals are served at noon at: The Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414.
Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
Monday: goulash, coleslaw, cornbread, four-fruit compote, cookie.
Tuesday: chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, beets in orange sauce, wheat bread, frozen fruit salad.
Wednesday: baked fish, broccoli-rice au gratin, wheat roll, jellied citrus salad.
Thursday: meat balls, baked potato, tomato slices, bread, pineapple ambrosia.
Friday: oven-fried chicken, potatoes, spinach-cheese bake, bread, peaches with topping.
