LEADING up to our summer vacation, the children were anxious with anticipation about the adventures we would have.
This year, we went to the mountains of Colorado where we met up with Ashley’s family. Nineteen people — including nine children — wedged into two small rustic cabins.
Apparently someone brought along another travel partner — a virus. It turned out to be a not-so-nice travel companion because after two days it started to attack everyone. No one was spared. All 19 people got sick with a stomach bug. This made the outhouse a frequently visited attraction.
Needless to say, this vacation was a memorable one. But next year, I hope our travel companions will decide to leave their viruses at home.
