Glaysher to enter high school hall of fame
Doug Glaysher, a member of the Emporia State basketball team from 1960-64, will be inducted into the Massapequa (N.Y.) High School hall of fame for extraordinary achievement in college athletics and public administration.
Glaysher earned NAIA All-American honors during his time at ESU, helping to lead the team to a fourth-place finish nationally. He graduated as ESU’s all-time leading scorer (1,308 points) and as the second-leading rebounder (669 rebounds).
Glaysher currently lives in Bentonville, Ark., and has been the city’s only Parks and Recreation director since moving there in 1982.
Jerry Seinfeld and Alec Baldwin are two other notable celebrities who have been honored in Massapequa High School’s hall of fame.
