VFW convention
The Fourth District VFW spring convention will be Saturday and Sunday in Emporia. Headquarters of the convention will be at VFW Post 1980, 932 Graphic Arts Road.
Officers and delegates of posts throughout the district will gather to conduct business and elect elect district officers for 2007-08.
State Senior Vice Commander Karl “Doug” Musick of Salina will be the state representative at the meeting. State Auxiliary president France Parks-Rice of Topeka will represent the auxiliary.
Veterans’ representative
This is the May schedule for Ken Morris, veterans’ service representative for the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs.
Veterans, their dependents or survivors who have received an Eligibility Verification Report form or any inquiry from the Department of Veterans Affairs should talk to him for assistance. If possible, call the Emporia office at 342-3347 beforehand so all files will be available.

• Burlington, 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 10 at the courthouse.
• Marion, 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 15 at the health department.
• Lyndon, 10 to 11:30 a.m. May 16 at the Bolz Insurance Agency.
• Osage City, 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 16 at the American Legion Home.
• Eureka, 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 17 at the courthouse.
