Temporary change of phone number
Construction of the new baseball complex at Soden’s Grove has interrupted telephone service at The Little Train’s depot for the next 30 days or so.
Bob Hush of the Sertoma Club, which operates The Little Train, said that people who want to make reservations for private parties this spring can call him, 342-2493, until phone service at the depot is restored.
The Little Train was hauled back to its home about 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. The train has had its diesel engine and electric driver motors replaced; it has been re-painted and is running, although minor adjustments will need to be made before it can go back into service.
Plans have been underway to hold a special event for children who donated to the train’s repair fund, and to book private parties until the Memorial Day weekend, when the train will resume its regular schedule.
