KISS for kids
Free food, games and prizes will be offered at a family activity intended to promote a safe and healthy summer for children and adults.
“Keep It a Safe Summer” will be held form 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
KISS also will include information about family fun this summer in Emporia.
The program is open to the public; however, children must be accompanied by adults. For more information, call 341-2450.
The event is co-sponsored by Emporians for Drug Awareness, USD 253 Safe and Drug-Free Schools, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2587.
Road closing
Road E5, between roads 175 and 180, will be closed beginning Friday to replace culvert. The road will be open by May 11, depending on the weather, according to a spokesman for the Lyon County Road and Bridge Department.
Advance Directives Clinic
Hand in Hand Hospice will host an Advance Directives Clinic from 4 to 6 p.m. May 2 in its office, 1015 Industrial Rd., Suite A.
Participants will learn how to complete a durable power of attorney for health-care decisions. For information, call 340-6177.
