Snyder comes for benefit

Monday, April 23, 2007

Former Kansas State University football coach Bill Snyder will be the guest speaker at an Emporians for Drug Awareness fundraising event next month.

The event will be May 4, in William L. White Auditorium. Snyder has donated his services, with all proceeds to benefit EDA, according to information from Mike Crouch, executive director.

The evening begins with a social hour and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:15 p.m. The cost is $25 per person for adults and $12 each for youths who are high-school age or younger. Reserved/preferred seating for a table of eight costs $250.

The value of the meal is $7.31. The remainder of the payment is considered a contribution, according to information from EDA.

Tickets may be purchased at the Lyon County State Bank main branch, 902 Merchant St.; Dorsey Animal Clinic, 2909 W. 12th Ave.; or the EDA office at Mary Herbert Learning Center, 1700 W. Seventh Ave.

Checks or money orders should be made payable to Emporians for Drug Awareness, P.O. Box 2015, Emporia KS 66801. Tickets will be mailed out before the event.

The program also will include remarks from Garin Higgins, football coach at Emporia State University, and Jonathan Beasley, former quarterback under Snyder at K-State and now quarterback coach at ESU.
