Two Emporia men were indicted on drug charges Wednesday by a grand jury in U.S. District Court in Topeka.
Shannon R. Drake, 28, and Jon Arch Buchanan, 26, are charged with possession with intent to distribute 59.2 grams of crack cocaine.
They were arrested by Emporia police for the crime, which is alleged to have occurred on Jan. 15, according to information from the office of U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren.
If convicted, they face a penalty of not less than 10 years and not more than life in prison, and a fine up to $8 million.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot will prosecute the federal case against the men.
