An abandoned house trailer burned to the ground early Tuesday evening about a quarter-mile south of Road 210 on Highway 99. The trailer, which sat at the end of a lane off the road, was showing flames when emergency personnel arrived.
Smoke and steam created by the heat of the fire mixed with mist and low-lying fog to keep the smoke close to the ground as the fire was brought under control.
The trailer, owned by the Larry Leazer family, had been unoccupied for a number of years and was being used for storage, Leazer said.
Firefighters worked at the scene for more than two hours.
The amount of loss was not available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
