Musical today

Today, the All God’s Children after-school program for kindergarten through sixth grade will present a musical, “Race To Win.” The play, sponsored by the Olpe United Methodist Church, will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph’s School basement. It will be preceded by a light meal at 5:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted.

The production includes NASCAR race clips and asks people “Whose Race are you running?” It encourages all to focus on what matters in life instead of money and fame.

The meal and performance are open to the public.

The monthly meeting of the Busy Beavers 4-H Club was called to order on March 12, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the Hoosier Creek Community Center by president John Klumpe. The flag salute and 4-H pledge were lead by Brianna Zweimiller. Roll call was answered by, “what are you doing over spring break?” Twenty-one members and two leaders were present. Treasurer Jessica Miller gave the treasurer’s report. Shelby Stout and Brianna gave their reporter’s reports stating they had turned in their reports but they had not yet been published. Amanda Zweimiller gave the council report. In the leaders’ report Andra Miller spoke about Discovery Days scholarships, and the Lyon County Fair book cover contest. She also spoke about the concession stand our club will be working on March 17, Club Days results, the county fun night on April 27, the petting zoo in May, and the lamb and horse projects.
