Eureka
The City of Eureka has made arrangements to assist patrons with Spring Clean-up by having the “dump site” at the mixing grounds, south of Eureka, open 24-hours a day at no charge.
There will be no “curb-side” pick-up, but patrons can haul their debris to the dumping location. The gates will open at 8 a.m. Monday and remain open through 3:30 p.m. Friday. The site is not qualified to accept tires, batteries, paint or household hazardous waste and patrons are requested to sort the materials.
Burlington
Bids will be solicited soon for an asphalt overlay project in the north part of Coffey County. Coffey County commissioners authorized the bid solicitation for a Hot Mix Pavement Project. The project will involve an unspecified depth of asphalt overlay on 3 1/2 miles of road in the Waverly area.
