A Texas man and a Lebo man will spend time in prison following convictions related to drug trafficking.
The sentences were handed down Sept. 21 and Wednesday in Coffey County District Court. Christopher S. Zink, 34, of Lebo, was sentenced to 14 months prison as a result of his August conviction for attempted sale of marijuana. Coffey County Attorney Doug Witteman filed charges in May following Zink’s arrest at his home in Lebo. The arrest followed an investigation conducted by the Coffey County Sheriff’s Department.
Witteman indicated that, although Zink was distributing relatively small amounts of marijuana to a circle of friends, he had previous convictions of a misdemeanor possession of marijuana and a felony possession of marijuana.
Ruben Franco Jr., 33, of El Paso, Texas, will serve 17 months in prison following his conviction in August for conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana.
