The Emporia High volleyball team picked up one win Wednesday night at the Shawnee Mission Northwest Quad.
The Spartans’ lone win of the evening came by virtue of a 2-1 (24-26, 25-15, 25-5) victory over Olathe North, while EHS (8-14) dropped matches to Shawnee Mission Northwest, 2-0 (25-23, 25-16), and Olathe Northwest, 2-0 (25-18, 25-8).
In the win over Olathe North, EHS and Olathe North battled throughout Game One, with the Spartans leading the whole way until Olathe North tied it on an attack error by EHS. Olathe North went on to win Game One, 26-24, but the Spartans rolled in Games Two and Three to take the match, 2-1, behind the offensive firepower of Jessica Muckenthaler, who paced the Spartans against Olathe North with 12 kills for the match.
