Emporia Police investigate Two Robberies

Two aggravated robberies were reported in a span of two days in Emporia. The latest robbery was reported at 12:40 a.m. today at Days Inn, 3032 W. Highway 50.
The suspect was described as a black male, in his 40s, wearing a hooded sweatshirt. According to the Emporia Police Department, the robber entered the business and demanded cash. He produced a weapon and took an undetermined amount of money. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
Police were called to Willard’s Daylight Donuts Monday morning.
According to police, just before 6:30 a.m. a man, described as black, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and in his 20s, entered the doughnut shop at 902 W. Sixth Ave., and demanded cash. The robber, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans under a lighter colored coat, produced a weapon and took and undetermined amount of money. He then ran east and then north up an alley between Walnut and Washington Streets.
